Same as before, I guess. Rice, fish, meat, chicken, vegetables, etc. In some areas devastated by typhoons, there are many relief goods distributed to them by local NGOs or charitable institutions and they get canned goods, noodles, blankets and whatever is handy and readily made available. If crisis you also mean poverty in marginalized areas, well, the people are more or less used to that kind of situation and have made themselves comfortable with what they can afford. They still eat 3x a day. However, only a few can now afford salted fish or "buwad" because they have become expensive even for local consumers. And I can't understand why: fish is abundant in the islands and seawater is everywhere.

WHAT CRISIS?

I do not know how to respond to this question. The poor do not have reagular meals and they are forever in crisis mode.

The middle class and the upper class would eat the same meals basically, crisis or no crisis. The trade down would be on other things.

most Filipinos are very resourceful. We can grow our own food if we want to. In time of crisis, we can still eat 3 square meals a day. all we have to do is go to our garden of veggies and pick out the ones that are ready to be cooked.

If death is a crisis, then we eat plenty during burials - it's like a fiesta anywhere.

In times of crisis we have a fiesta. We eat lechon, kare-kare, pansit palabok, lumpiang hubad, kakanin, chicken-pork adobo, chopsuey, sweet and sour fish, barbecue, all sorts of salads and plenty of beer and hard liquor.
