Go to their campaign websites. All will offer newsletters.
I signed up for Kerry and Bush during the '04 cycle and I still get messages daily from the likes of Kerry, Edwards, Bush, Gingrich, Gore, Clinton (both of them), etc.
They will keep you updated for years to come, and then from candidates and pundits to come.
Heck. I just got a message from Vanessa Kerry about a week ago...
"I campaigned for my dad back in 2004 on a lot of campuses, and of course, one of the main subjects that many young people talked to me about was Iraq. People in college have had and continue to have friends in Iraq, or know someone who joined the Reserves to pay for college and ended up in Baghdad; I have friends who have served this way also. Knowing this, I've always been especially proud of what my dad did last year, when he stepped out ahead of his party and started demanding we set a deadline to get the troops out of Iraq."
etcetera etcetera, ad infinitum, oh zero my hero....
Yes. They will bend your ear even when they aren't campaigning.
Even to solicit donations for miles in a bike ride...
From John Kerry
"It's for them, and for all of the people who may get the disease, that I ride in the Pan Mass Challenge again this year -- I hop on my bike this Saturday. This race raises money for cancer research and treatment."..."So, please, go here [link] and support my ride with a pledge of support. Help raise money for this important cause."
Or even Ned Lamont? (I never signed up for this guy's campaign)..
"Last year, Connecticut Democrats heard my call for an end to the war in Iraq and nominated me to be their U.S. Senate candidate. The pundits derided our campaign, but John Kerry had my back. We didn't win the general election, but the explosion of activist energy my campaign triggered helped change the debate nationally and led to Democrats winning a majority in both houses of Congress."..."Four of those Roadblock Republicans -- Susan Collins (ME), John Sununu (NH), Norm Coleman (MN), and minority leader Mitch McConnell (KY) -- will face the voters in 2008. Nothing changes a politician's mind like the prospect of a tough challenge at the polls. Click here to help Clear the Roadblock. "
