No. Empires at War is a RTS, not an MMORPG. It does not have a monthly fee.

Nope, no monthly subscription.

However, without the expansion pack it gets kinda repetitive. The AI's not that bright. You gotta get the expansion pack though. It puts a lot of upgrades on the ships, AI, and adds a new playable faction.
