I'd like to compile a collection of ghost stories from Arkansas. If you have any you've heard or experienced personally; please share! By the way, I already have lots on the Gurdon light, NLR High School, Henderson U, & Harding U!
Thanks!

Sorry, guess I should have been more clear. I've looked at all the websites & read loads of books. I really wanted personal accounts.

There's an old penal farm in Barton that is very haunted! I've had messages appear on my windshield while parked outside of the place. My leg was almost crushed when my car door was slammed shut also while parked outside. I've been chased out of there by something screaming at us. At some point we felt like "it" was a woman and more specifically a mother. The next time we went there, this very old looking child's shoe was just sitting out in the open (in a large room). We would have seen it before--very odd how it just showed up there. There's also the Crossett light (a lot like the Gurdon light). I've seen both, but the Crossett light never disappoints.

When we began mapping in Blanchard Springs Cave for the Forest Service we had to rappel into the cave and climb the ropes back with ascenders. This was before they cut through the "green door" tunnel. There was a legend that one or more Native Americans and some early mountain men had fallen into the cave via the same opening we used to repel and they died from the fall or died of hunger and exposure.

I never actually saw any ghosts, but I did hear a rock fall behind us as we left the area beneath the opening. We also had a pack drug across the floor where we overnighted in the cave one time.

The Crescent Hotel in Eaureka Springs is the most haunted sight in Arkansas and the 10th most haunted site in America. That would be a good place to start.

I recommend that you look up material on Ozark Mountain Folklore. It is RIFE with ghost stories and strange happenings.
