Mine does that everycouple of months. The way I fix it is to drain the water in the house. I put a tee, valve and hose bib in the basement. When it starts to hammer I shut the water off to the house, open the drain and open all the faucets. They usually install stub outs in a vertical position to absorb the shock of shutting the water off. Sometimes these get water bound and you need to drain the water from them.

Water hammer. Get a supressor from the hardwar store and hook it up to your washing machine faucets.

Just a back up of hot water pressure. The relief valve isn't working. It is not a big deal. If you want to search the relief valve out, it's a 2 person job, you could figure it out.
