im a teenager from san diego and have had to deal with all of this fob and emo/pop/punk bull s hit for the last 3 years of my life. everyone is obsessed with this crap music that has no music or lyrical talent at all, its sickening. im a metal head and listen to death metal, black metal, prog metal, power, thrash, etc
basically the underground stuff that people have forgotten about.
i listen to more then metal though, i listen to jazz, fusion and classical music but what all my fellow teens think is "genius" musicianship is a bunch of crap. i agree with you, people need to pull their heads out of their asses and start listening to music with talent, all they do is jump on the bandwagon and
follow lame mtv trends...

It's a trend...and since the dawn of mankind, teenagers and youngsters have been obsessed over music that some don't like. Hair metal in the 80s, new wave in the mid-late 80s, grunge, punk revival, alternative, nu metal, garage rock, mid 90s/early 00s pop punk, metalcore, emo. Bands like MCR, FOB, AAR happen to be popular among teens right now so that's what they'll talk about. If this website existed in the early to mid 90s, you'll keep seeing questions about Green Day, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, The Offspring, Nirvana...non-stop.

And good music to one person may sound like bad music to another. It's called varying tastes.

And $20 that the next trend will be so worse, even the current emo scene will detest it to hell.

You do realize that you're just perpetuating the cycle and sparking MORE discussion about these groups that you don't want to talk about anymore, right? You do realize that they are going to ask questions about all of the "h8rs" right? Questions like these are just as much a part of the problem as their inane questions.

Although your superiority is dually noted.

***************
Hey man, I'm sick of the inanity too. There is maybe one question a month or so in regards to my favorite artists, excluding the Beatles, but I'd say about 60% of the My Checmical Romance questions for instance are asking "Why don't you like us?" or "Why is everyone picking on us?" and by asking an argumentative question like this you are in fact spawning more and more questions like those.

Sorry about the superiority jab, but you have to admit that when you in essence say that you have better taste than somebody else you inevitably come off kind of pompous. I get where you're coming from though, it does get pretty maddening around here. I'm just starting to get back into the rock and pop section after a much needed break.

some people will remember and some wont... and we cant get over it because there are kids that will listen to it for awhile and then the industry will spit out something new and more annoying than fall out boy crap. besides most of those bands will one day disappear and break up. they're all headed in the same direction, sell outs to nothing anyone cares about anymore.

I love Paramore and those so-called teen/emo pop bands yet i still love what you call "good music" too. I think it's a good bablance between the two "genres"

Heck YES. What about some Black or Melo-Death Metal talk? Okay, so, anyways. Any of you guys like Agalloch, Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Nile, Death, The 69 Eyes, etc...?

can we just get over all the whole black sabbath deal and move on to world culture?

I personally like those bands. I think since it's a new genre, people like it too much now...later, people will move on !
