1. Please do suggest me the suburb names around sydney where there are good rental houses/apt (in a quiet neighborhood)and which are also connected by good public transport.
2. Also what would be the cost of living for a veggie family of 2 adults?
Please do give me an approximate of how much monthly expenses will be for: Food+travel+rentals.
Would really appreciate as precise information as possible.

Have a look at the Sydney Morning Herald on a Saturday. The classified advertisements will give you house and rental prices across the city http://www.smh.com.au My personal choice would be one of the near-city suburbs like Newtown or Glebe. Both have a village atmosphere and lots of food shops and restaurants. They cater for vegetarians as so many live in the area. There is excellent public transport in both areas but you could walk to the city in about 45 minutes if you wanted to. The University of Sydney is between the two suburbs.

well, Sydney is a pretty hectic place, and I must say, you must be willing to empty out your pockets, because the cost of living is pretty damn high; But for somewhere quiet, I would suggest Ashfield? Stratsfield?
