Would that be the Tailhook Convention, first organized in 1956, and cancelled after the much-publicized, reprehensible activities of the 1991 Convention in Las Vegas? But that would be only 36 annual conventions, not 46.

The Super Bowl. It was only cancelled for about 10 minutes, though; that being how long it took for the entire governing board of the NFL to be torn to shreds by a crazed mob and replaced by more 'reasonable' people.

To John R, I thought the Superbowl had been cancelled due to a shield accident? And reinstated because cancelling it for a peek was too sexist?
