Anyone feel there was anything from these books that was left open, that you were expecting or hoping to be dealt with in the last book but wasn't, and if so what was it?

Everything that people have mentioned so far can be explained by spin-off books, so she had to leave something out. We can get Teddy Lupin's story as 1, James and Lily's story as another. The Weasley's, the early years. Albus Severus and the other children's adventures with Scorpius Malfoy. Even the Malfoy's dark story. JK has left her options wide open for 100's of books in the future.
PS - SHE COULDNT TELL US WHERE THE DURSLEY'S WENT AS SHE WASN'T THE SECRET KEEPER. LOL

I can do no better than quote an email from my friend Steve on the subject: "What do Harry, Ron and Hermione do for a living? Did any of them become Aurors? Did they return to Hogwarts to finish their studies? Who became Minister for Magic? Who filled the various vacancies at Hogwarts? What happened to George with Fred gone? Who brought up Teddy Lupin? Did Harry become a Sirius figure to him? Was any kind of memorial set up to the dead characters? What happened to Luna Lovegood? What happened to the Malfoys? Did the Ministry abolish Azkaban and replace it (and the Dementors) with a more enlightened penal system? Were the rest of the House-Elves freed? I want answers Rowling!". We both loved the book but hated the final chapter - it was schmalzy and naff. On the plus side, we're having a competition to write our own final chapter! Long live HP! :)

Yes! She changed her mind on quite a few things. The person showing magic later in life she decided against, and she never said who it would have been. She let Arthur Weasly live (no complaints) but because of that, she killed off Tonks and Lupin. Ginny was too much of a minor character in this book in my opinion, she basically built her up and then left her. We never knew where the Dursley's went, and they could have at least mentioned it in that chapter where they were leaving. She also changed the last word being 'scar' but I don't really care about that one. She just made quite a few false promises, that was what bothered me, though I do see that she can't always put everything in that people would like.

I wanted to know:
- what Harry ended up doing as a career
- more of a reaction to the loss of Fred from the Weasleys, et al
- why JKR made a big deal of Harry becoming Teddy Tonks godfather, but then Teddy didn't live with him
That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure I had more!

- who is the new mister of magic

yeah.. like JKR said one character was non-magical and showed powers..that wasn't there.. then I was hoping to get more info on Hagrid and his background and stuff about Fridwulfa(his mum) . And about Olympe Maxime..
Also something about Lily and James' parents..i.e harry's grandmum and grandad.. who they were and what they did..maybe even a flashback to a wedding?
