I mean it's inevitable that the world will eventually become one country with one government. People will be citizens of a democratic world without borders. So why are people so nationalistic and reluctant to accept the fact that this will happen someday?

It may be inevitable that the world will come under one country with one government, but as soon as that happens it will start to fracture. One government cannot rule the world's people, some group will get neglected and fight the government, possibly starting an insurgency, secession or other form of opposition. The fact that people oppose globalization today, before it's happened, is proof that it won't work.

Thos already involved in other nations have awakened to the fact that they have all of their old dictators back under a different banner. It isa failed political and monetary system!

Somehow the term "Communism and Totalitarianism" don't sit very well with most people. Most people enjoy their sovereignty, being able to own property and inherit material wealth and the pursuit of happiness. America has been the most successful and productive nation in a Democracy by representation of the people, by the people and for the people.

Our way of life may have flaws, but under our political climate the People can demand that things be fixed!

You liberals really need to get educated so that you can see the harm in "globalization" and "state sponsored" ANYTHING.

There is NO benefit to socialized medicine except to the poorest of the poor, who would have something rather than nothing.

Globalization of the world will mean even FURTHER errosion of your RIGHTS. I would much rather you liberals finally study The Declaration of Independence and The Bill of Rights so that you can finally LEARN what your GOD given rights as a citizen of this nation are!

It's pathetic for you to think it's inevitable, that term alone means that you have already given up and wouldn't FIGHT for your RIGHTS as a citizen.

well, if it happened tomorrow, the dictators of the world would be in charge and your personal assets like your home, car, computer, and retirement plan would become community property.

so what we want is the system that we believe works best to be the global system.

The Islamists want the same thing. It is just that the system they want is opposed to the existence of the system we want.

Same for the Chinese.

So how are you going to pick?

Humans did not design the Universe and we are not running it.

It sure looks to me as though cultural evolution is a real in Universe phenomenon and that cultures are in competition to determine which will be most successful.

So we'll have globalization and a universal culture after one of the contenders decisively defeats all of the others.

I doubt that will be in our lifetimes, however.

Good question. And globalization sounds ok in theory to promote peace and harmony.

However, who will run things? That's the question.

All of that condensed power with no opposition is the problem.

The world will be a dictatorship with no oversight from anybody.

There will be the rulers of this one world government and then there will be everyone else.

That doesn't sound good.

There's nothing inevitable about world-wide democracy or one world government. Far from it. Large totalitarian blocs, perhaps...

Globalization is bad for a lot of reasons. One of them being that some corporation far, far away from their area of production doesn't care about the damage, poverty, or disaster that happens in that community.

Globalization works to further enslave and degrade the majority of workers.

It certainly is not inevitable. With a globalization, everyone ends up comforming to the lowest common denominator. Perhaps you would like to share a standard of living with Africa and Indonesia. I would not.

if globalization is so "perfect", why can't people agree on it?

Because they have their own way of life and they don't like the idea of changing their beliefs or their way of doing things, in order to satisfy someone else.

Because we'll be run by the U.N. which will be owned by a handful of the Corporate elite. That sounds like it's a far cry from freedom and Democracy.

NO THANKS!

For some reason I doubt it will be all that democratic. More like the Empire in star wars making us all slaves or something in that vein.
