Used to work at a factory where the boxes would come down the line and get 'sprayed' with the label. Someone would type the case label into the computer and it would spray the box. Any ideas??

I am not sure what your question is, but I will give answer as quality analyst ... there are potential problems with this system.

Sounds like a stenciling operation where there is high risk of mislabeling due to the human element

In my experience, when there is some kind of paper trail identifying labels needed, and some jhuman being transcribe that into computer, there is risk of keying error.

For example ... we have a manufacturer or distributor of maybe 10,000 different products & a final step is to put it in container & label the container with what the contents are ... there's a high risk here that some will get mislabeled.

A better system is to have the computer keep track of the paperwork requirements, and thus know what the printing needs are.

Another system is to get label "clipped" to the product before final human inspection ... does label agree with product ... or put product in box, but don't seal the box ... inspector compares what product is with what label is, before box sealed up.
