because of the media's influence to make people think the same and like the same **** that talks bout money, bring on the top, girls, and being mean and heartless. just listen to what you like and don't give a **** what other people think. find a person that likes the kind of music you do and start chatting. don't pay atention to retards that discriminate what you like just because they don't like it.

Music goes through cycles. Some one will come up with something new and will change it up. The 80's sucked, but there were a few good bands then, you had to look for them though. Look outside the normal channels and try some different genres. Someone like Nirvana will come along and make something that the mainstream will catch onto, but I agree with you there is not much out there now, I hate that emo **** whatever that is. It makes me emotional alright, like sick.

whatever that sells. The fact that they became mainstream is because they have a lot of fans. When you're a fan to something, it means you like it.

There no longer is a bar where artist should live up to, whoever sells the most record wins, no matter how crappy their music is.

It's all subjective. People who doesn't like it finds it crappy. people who likes it finds it great. Mainstream artist have fans, they are generating revenue for recording company, that's all that matters. Like it or not, it will always be this way. It's all about the revenue they can generate.

That vortex started out spinning interior the mid-90s, and now it incredibly is a black hollow with some distant stars we as quickly as knew. there continues to be some solid, captivating and honest track interior the worldwide nevertheless. according to possibility the only solid element approximately very almost each physique in universal track being an uninspired copycat is that it inadvertently forces track fanatics to seek for the solid stuff international (and outdoors of pre-general genres) and detect some stuff they won't have in any different case. actual, that grew to become right into a contributing element to my falling in love with woman-led Hindi track (who knew?), to boot as learning artists that have been there all alongside yet that for some unusual reason i did no longer think of i could love (Aretha Franklin, Zappa, the dissonant environment of early Tangerine Dream, Bossa Nova and Samba artists, and so on.). happy searching to all...

mainstream 'music' had gone crap cos it only seems to be about the money, and attractive images of girls/boys. american idol, my hole if i may say. listen to new music, where the kids are playing from the heart in small smelly clubs, and only dreaming about making it big one day...and even that not cos they want the money but cos they want the chicks ; )

Yes very true. I personally don't like the bands that have recently gone mainstream such as Boys Like Girls and Quietdrive. I used to like them back in 06 when only people who actually liked all of their songs but now that people only like them because of one song I hate them.....

It's because all of the teenagers these days have too much free time because they don't have jobs, so they start bands. And since all the record labels are stupid and sign every worthless act that comes through their doors, there is 100 crappy bands for every good one.

music is done for other reasons then music mainly. Fame, money etc. but not music. Music is secondary. Once in a while somebody pays real attention to what they produce, but otherwise its all just like you said.
