peace.
unencumbered by distraction and noise i can finally feel what's REAL.
surrounded by the quiet peace and love my wife provides, all priorities become crystal-clear.
at peace with myself and my surroundings, the clarity shimmers.
with peace, i can see it all.

My gateway to reality is my job. At home, I have this separate "reality" where I am happy and people care about me, and I have a wife, kids, and a lot of friends. The exact moment I step through the front door at work, "the Gateway" if you will, that whole "reality" I left at home fizzles and I get sucked into this vortex of petty, ignorant, vile creatures who back stab and gossip, throw temper tantrums, and argue just for the sake of arguing. That kind of makes my home life seem surreal and distant, like a day dream. Other than that, I like my job.

My connection with the Spirit. He is my guide & teacher. With one touch my whole perception of any situation is totally changed & peace replaces turmoil. Any disciplines I use such as meditation, being an observer, etc are for the sole purpose of clearing the garbage out & making a place for him. In a world full of deceit, deception, & questionable motives he is my only refuge & gateway to something real.

When I finally accept that there is no reality. It is my own interpretation of what is real or not. It is directed by my ego or 'self'. When I finally learn to truly believe that there should be no 'I'.
Accepting that others see their own 'reality' differently from me. Learning to understand that I do need to understand, I need to just 'be' to feel at ease, to appreciate what my senses can detect to enable me to live peacefully.
To be free from the concept/action of self cherishing. So that I learn that my needs and wants are only equal to those of ALL others. That my ego deserves no special priviledge only because it is mine. Learning to not want the best for others who I feel close to, as this is also an act of self cherishing, believing that my own opinion/ego is important. To continue to challenge my ego and finally accept that it provides a false reality.

Above all else maintain ones sense of dignity in life and cultivate reason with a measure of caution. For all things are not pleasant in life. And to know, that no matter what, or how difficult the struggle of living becomes, that ultimately we can bare it.

the gateway to reality has to be my trust in the bible when the confidence in it is removed for a time so that I can grow in my faith.
I understand perception well, and I also know not to always trust my senses.
