A lot of private schools in the U.S. require the students to wear uniforms. Most public schools only have mild dress codes like no curse words on the clothing, shorts must be a certain length, etc. My daughter's middle school doesn't allow the girls to wear shirts with spaghetti straps. The straps have to be at least and inch or two wide. So, most schools have some kind of dress code but barely.

Almost every school has a dress code of some kind. It just varies from school to school. Most commonly banned are shirts with explicit language, low-cut shirts or pants, and revealing underwear. When I was in high school we couldn't wear hooded sweatshirts my first year because they were thought to be coats and therefore not acceptable in classrooms.

We even had a rule on how thick your tank top straps had to be (no spaghetti straps or halter tops). When I started HS they had to be at least one inch thick; it was two inches by the time I graduated. I am just thankful that the school I teach at now has uniforms, so I don't have to worry about dress code too much.

There is a dress code. If it's a school with no uniforms, it tells you how long a skirt has to be, you can't wear undergarments on the outside, no foul language on shirts, and so on.
Some schools have uniforms and the dress code tells you what you can wear, for example, tan pants and blue polos.

Most US schools do have dress codes. The elementary schools have mostly gone to uniforms, and the other secondary schools all have dress codes where I live. They are also pretty strictly enforced.

There is a dress code in the US for us students... It just depends on what school you're at... In Elementary you're not allowed to wear sandals, or tank tops... In Middle School you're not allowed to wear flip-flops, tank tops or shorts above your finger tips... In High School you are allowed to wear flip-flops, tank tops (if you have a shirt to go over it), and shorts that touch your finger tips...

There is a dress code in the US for us... you just don't recognize it.

Many schools have dress codes, they just aren't always adhered to very strongly, as is the case at my high school.

i used to be at a college with a uniform. It helped lots simply by fact i did not could provide any concept to clothing. If there isn't a uniform, despite the fact that, i don't think of a gown code makes any distinction. you nonetheless could worry approximately what you place on.
