Okay so i'm currently in Oklahoma and I was out walking the other day and I saw this bug that looked like an ant except it was about the size of a nickel and it was red and fuzzy. What was it?

You know, I've lived in Oklahoma all my life and I've never seen a Velvet Ant in person. Anyhow, that is probably what you have seen. Here is a pic for comparison.

A velvet ant really isn't an ant at all, but a wingless female wasp that likes to raid the nests of other wasps. They are lovely creatures, but they have a nasty sting.
In case this is your insect, I've included some information. http://insects.tamu.edu/fieldguide/cimg344.html

If this is a beetle, it's as a rule a potato beetle. They are relatively average in America and feature certain darkish and faded brown stripes stripes. If you already know what kind of worm it's, what state or nation it's in, or some other expertise I is also in a position to support extra.

Velvet ant or Cow killer. It is actually a wasp that nests in the ground. They really hurt if they sting you (personal experience), and they are hard to kill by stomping on them.
