What if the whole point of our existence is to expedite the acceleration of the converging of the universe to a single point?

If gravity pulls everything into a point in space, then the intelligence of the universe would have as its goal the convergence of all matter. Perhaps we are one of the vehicles that accelerate this convergence by our own manipulation of substance. We create products out of the raw material around us. We alter its form, its density, and its combinations. What if we are the advanced form of this substance learning how to manipulate substance so we can, so far unconsciously, expedite the acceleration project?

Any thoughts on the matter?

Please, no "nobody knows the answer" idiots. These kind of people are just waisting everyone's time, and have completely missed the boat on what the Yahoo Answers forum is all about.

Steve C, your comment would be accurate if you are speaking from the point of view that we are nothing more than a human body. What if we are more than this?

linglong, if we have proof that the universe is expanding, then we have proof in what direction and for what bodies. The trajectory of all these bodies must ultimately reveal their origin.

Mr. Knowitall, what makes you separate us and our affairs from nature? We do, in fact, manipulate and have a greater impact on Earth elements than all other species, combined. Evolution is in line with advancing the capacity of altering substance globally. What makes us think that the same process happening on Earth isn't happening on the planetary civilizations of other star systems? I so often see us talk as if we are the only intelligent beings in the universe. If you look at the movement of matter around the universe, and the developing star systems, and figure our planets evolution among them, it's stands to reason that evolving life to a point of intelligent handling of substance is the basic organic infrastructure of substance alteration.

Maybe our existence to prevent the convergence of the universe and create a steady state situation? To accelerate it would bring about our own destruction, so it would seem the opposite is more in mind of the creators. All you need to do is cancel the Lamnda affect, or increase it to accelerate. Personally, I can wait patiently for the end.

But the forces of nature do this much more than we do, and more efficiently. Even all of us taken together are just extremely insignificant on a universal level.

I read a book years & years ago that I thought was really cool. It was written back when computers were rare and worth millions of dollars. It was a novel about a programmer who was doing a project to enter the entire 'human experience' into computers to determine the meaning of life, the purpose of mankind. It was a long story, but at the end what he found suggested that our purpose is as an irritant, like the seed in an oyster that becomes a pearl. We were put here to cause some kind of damage or destruction, and in healing the damage the universe would become stronger, like the body reacting to a vaccine. I thought that was kind of interesting.

Substance alteration is one thing, manipulating the movement of the universes is another one, entirely. You may have the seed of a decent science fiction story. Why don't you spend some time on that?

well, the universal center of gravity is pretty hard to demonstrate especially that the universe is still expanding so we don't have any prove on a gravitational force coming from the center of the universe

I think we should get things right here on earth before we take our problems any where else in the Universe.
