I am new to cleveland and would like to know what are the places to visit in Cleveland and what are the fun activities and things to do in Cleveland? Any restaurants which are recommended? Also different options to commute in the city.

Besides the usual Rock and Roll Hall(a must), check out the museums, the flats and Lake Erie. West side market is an amazing place, just make sure they're open when you go. My favorite restaurant is Shuhei in Beachwood-authentic Japanese and sushi. As far as the commute, just take lots of time and be willing to back track if you need to. Cleveland driving is not as complicated as some cities(Washington DC/NYC) just take a map and have some patience. Don't go during rush hours-especially during a Friday or on game nights. I've also listed some unusual sites.

Sorry about all the construction but if you stay long enough you'll see how nice the city can really be! Nice places to visit in Cleveland, other than the normal tourist spots like the Rock Hall, come up to Cleveland Heights, and hang out on Coventry. Coventry, has a lot of good restaurants like Tommy's and Mint Cafe. There is always something to do on Coventry on any given night. Also you can check out University Circle, that's where the rest of the museums are, and the also you could check out the Cultural Gardens. As far as commuting goes, well it depends, if you are driving and where are you driving from or to? Cleveland is under so much construction, its making the buses run off schedule too. I would just try to learn the city, as best as I could. Good luck, and welcome!

As far as restaurants, I wouldd check out Shooters on the Water. It's right on the Cuyahoga river, had good food and a fun young atmosphere if you stay late enough. As far as activities, we have a few festivals here and there. The Taste of Cleveland is coming up on Aug 31st which has samples of 30 different restaurants and live music. Also, take a stroll through Tower City where you can shop downtown. You can get there by our Rapid transit system if you don't want to take the bus. Other than that there's an Indians game, great museums, and plenty of bars! Hope you like it here =0)

Jacobs Field, Cleveland Browns Stadium, Hard Rock Cafe, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Great Lakes Science Center, West Side Market, Coventry. I personally am a Jacobs Field junkie. It is a wonderful stadium.

About the commute... From I71, learn how to get off at W14 and use Scranton Rd to go down through the flats to St. Clair and up into the city. From 90, learn how to get off at W25 and hit Scranton Rd.

Visit the Zoo, it's top notch. Cuyahoga Valley NP is the worst national park in the country but it still has some nice hikes and waterfalls. The Lake Erie Nature and Science Center in Westlake is nice.

Really depends a lot on your age and interests, kids, couples, or solo... But Cleveland has a lot to offer. I'm sure you'll love it here. Welcome!
