I had depo in mar - since then ive been tired and had stomach pains. it tricks your body into believing you're pregnant and i had all those symptoms since!!! I also havent had my period since (it was supposed to run out in june)
My sister had it same time as me. she's had non stop bleeding. she too was supposed to run out in June but is still bleeding heavily.
its irreversable and if you have probs you'll have to let it run its course

I had the injection for about a year or so and put on quite a lot of weight with it. I also became very emotional and depressed.
But then everybody has different experiences with it too so you may find its completely different. I would say to give it a go and see how your body reacts to it is the only way to find out. If I remember correctly each injection only lasts 3 months anyway so its not an awful long time if you don't like it.

3 people i know got horrible mood swings and depression from it.
I have the implant. It is a little painful and weird for 3 days after getting it put in, and you're likely to get a bruise, but then you forget about it for 3 years and I've had no side effects. I love the thing! If you have problems you can get it removed and the side effects should stop very quickly, unlike the injection which you are stuck with if it causes problems.
One friends relationship broke down because her bf couldn't stand the abuse for more than 3 months. Injection is great if it works but if you have problems you are basically screwed!

if you do not want children, then the injection is a great form of birth control. the injection is a longer term contraceptive. if not, you can also have the implant in your arm, which means you wont need to go back to the doctors every 6 months for your next injection. implants last 3 years.

I don't know how it would effect you however i took it when i was 16-17 and it made me aggressive and stopped my periods totally which at the time i loved and you are warned about that but the aggression was new for me as i didn't expect that. I also put on quite a bit of weight, not excessive though.
It effects different people in different ways and as long as you fully know the positives as well as the possible negatives than you will be OK. Ask the family planning doctor or your GP for all information needed.

There's side effects and possible risks involved in all birth control, its just finding one that suits you best. Would you not try the bar in your arm? The only problem i found with the injection was that it made me feel bloated at times. Plus you rarely get a period, i often worried incase i was pregnant and didn't know. You can also get a contraceptive patch now, its much less invasive !!

I used it for a number of years. Recently however there have been revised statements from the gynecological community stating that the shot should only be used for a maximum of 3 years.
While I had ZERO problems with it, some women report mood swings, weight gain, constant bleeding, irregular bleeding, severe cramping, etc. The only way you'll know how it works for you is to try it.
Good luck.

I haven't
But only becasue I like having control over what I put in my body. Any reactions etc that you have from the injection is irreversible.
My mates haven't complained about it though!!
