Technically, you do (at least in the U.S.). You can assign those rights away (ie. mineral rights, etc). However, the air rights are not yours...

Hope this helps...

Technically, under British law, if you own a piece of land Freehold you do own it all the way down and also, believe it or not, the sky immedialtely above it. It is basically a piece of medieval law that has never been rescinded and so, naturally, means very little unless, of course, there are natural resources found in the land such as oil, gold and even spring water. These natural resources would then be deemed to belong to the land owner.

Dude! What a question! I'd imagine that they at least own it to the bottom of the crust, but then how can you own the flowing magma underneath? I reckon once you get to the lava, that would be like international waters, so if you dug down in your garden you could create a lava resistant floating casino that sold prostitutes and hard drugs!

Interesting point. I'm guessing you do but since it is impossible to get to the core of the earth that isn't really an issue. You have to get permits to dig holes in your land so you would probably get in trouble if you tried to dig down very deep.

In UK, you don't even 'own' what's under your own floorboards ..

(come on, work it out, many people 'own' homes that are built over Coal Mines etc .. plainly they never owned the coal otherwise the miners would have to pay them for it before starting to dig ..)

It depends on the laws of the country where the property is located. Geological rights vary from nation to nation.
