When I was taking my class on Long Term Care, my Professor asked what would I look for in a Senior Community or Nursing Facility. My answer was quite simple and I pass this one along to you:

Go in and inspect it as if it were for you for the balance of your life. Is this someplace you would want to live out your last years?

What does it smell like? How is their food? Is medical care adequate? Is the staff well trained to your way of thinking? Are there activities on a regular basis? All of these questions and any others you can think of, should be answered to your complete satisfaction before placement is even considered.

She deserves the best she can get for her remaining years.

Good luck in your search.
