Just out of the package yesterday. Wouldn't show up on iTunes but my computer said there was an iPod. Then iTunes said to restore the iPod (evidently, it recognized it for a second). Now it is dead -- won't reset, won't turn on.

What do I do? Any suggestions? Bought it off eBay (brand-new, unopened, shrink-wrapped) so I don't know if Apple will honor a warranty, although it was manufactured in January 2007.

they will honor the warranty for 1 yr from date of purchase. make sure you buy the extended service warranty when you go - they didn't tell me about it and my apple new ipod went butt up in 7 months. now i'm sol with out an ipod bcse the employee never told me about getting a warranty!!

press both the center and menu buttons for 6 seconds for a soft restore were the songs wont be deleted

or keep trying for a restore by finding an icon in itunes were it says ipod restorer or updater
