There is no way that humankind is on the brink of extinction.
First surf the net and check numbers of how many people are on the earth. Brink of extinction should have a number of less than something, check on that, too. Talk about modern medicine and how it helps women who couldn't get pregnant, conceive.

We are making our environment toxic due to our blatant greed and over populating the planet.

We will either poison ourselves off or cause a mass death due to starvation from over population.

If we screw up the environment much worse, we will cause a chain reaction that will end us. Something as simple as the Bee dying will cause a large majority of our food to go away. No pollination, no plant reproduction. No reproduction, no food.

We are a doomed species.

I think it is more likely that humankind will overbreed and overfill the planet. That is the worst problem we face.
