I strained my quad yesterday shooting a soccer ball, and I'm planning on practicing again tomorrow. What are some things that I can do in the meantime, besides icing, to make it feel better? And what can I do to help deal with the pain while playing on it?

Just wanted to add that I've been icing and stretching since right after it happened, so keep that in mind.

before and after, take a small ball, tennis ball, anything, and roll out your tension on your thighs. Also, taking a hot bath in he morning and after practice can soothe the muscle. Good luck

15 minutes of heat followed by stretching, then 15 minutes of ice. It you do several rounds of this, you shouldn't have "pain while playing on it." The only thing to help then, since you didn't stretch and do heat and cold right after the injury, is to take some acedaminaphine. After you play tomorrow, make sure you stretch. You may need to do heat, stretching, and ice every day until it gets better. See this page for stretch http://darkwing.uoregon.edu/~athmed/pattendon/quad.html

good expensive if you're involved why now not speak to a surgeon then they are able to refer you to a heart specialist and they are able to do a CT experiment to peer how a lot plaque you might have received on your arteries.
