Im 38 weeks today. I went to bed fine, woke up at 12ish and felt like i was spinning, got up and got a drink of water, laid back down and was fine, but now at 2am I woke up spinning again. I laid there with my eyes open and it started happening with my eyes open. I am not sitting up in the living room, and I feel fine, except that im like sick to my stomahce cuz i feel like i just went for wild rolloer coaster ride.

Any Ideas what this might be? I have a Dr. Apt today, If I can make it that long without throwing up lol. Its kinda creepy to lay down and feel this way, I dont like it. Any Suggestions?

After the 2 am battle with this, I ate a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk, went back to bed and seemed ok, until this morning, when i got up to pee again, and laid back down, then things started spinning again.

I have a dr apt today about 4, and called, it cant be moved up, However I am going to go have my b/p tested to make sure it is ok. any other suggestions

I have that happen to me now.... Sometimes I sit down and just stay there for awhile. It could that you are getting up to fast. Dizziness could be connected to your inner ear being off balance or just simply vertigo. But I would try to limit my salt intake and talk to your doctor don't wait too long and also try to limit being on your feet.

38 Weeks Pregnant Dizzy

Just as a matter of interest where you on your back when you woke up?

I am 24 weeks pregnant and every time the baby kicks or moves I get very lightheaded and dizzy. Also if I lie on my back the room starts to spin and only stops when I get up.

Due to your expanding uterus if you lie on your back the uterus will press on the Vena Cava which is the main artery in your body and when the uterus press on this it cuts of blood supply to the lower half of your body and the uterus making you lightheaded and dizzy

Hope all is well and doc gives you good news
All the best :)

You could be a little dehydrated, but being it seems to start after you get up and lay back down it might be inner ear. But it is good you are going to check your bp cause it being too high or even too low could cause that too. Pregnancy causes weird changes in your body, some go away shortly after childbirth and some stay with you. If your bp is not too high, just try to drink plenty of fluids and if you lay down try laying on your left side till you can get to the dr.

I had lots of dizzy spells during both of my pregnancies... even more when I was lying down. I know that mine were caused blood sugar and iron deficiency issues. Peanut butter and orange juice usually did the trick for me along with a daily iron supplement that my Dr. suggested.

I would get dizzy and pass out during pregnancy. I think its normal as your BP changes a lot especially in the AM.

However, it seems to me it can also be a sign of preeclampsia... although i think it has to be with swelling and high BP.

Just go to your appointment today and get checked.

As long as you have called the Dr's office and informed them of the situation and they say it's okay to wait until 4 pm appt., I wouldn't worry about it.
Good luck to you and your new family. I'm sure you're very excited!

PS.... if a person doesn't want to read a question, they don't have to read it or answer it! I think it's good that you were specific in details. I can understand why this would concern you, and you have a legitimate question!
