How do I offer a price to the seller? TO make it reasonable.?

I saw a listing for a car for 9000 dollars, but the KBB value is 5,500, and that is reasonalbe, because it is a rather cheap american car.

I am going to call the seller, how do I propose him the price of 5,500 not to upset him? What should I say?

I would probably not even call him and look for something else, but, you may try what the first answer says. It never hurt to ask.

I would tell him that you've researched it, and you know the car is only worth 5,500. Offer him that amount, and when he says no, give him your phone number and ask him to call you in a few days, when he's still trying to sell it because no one will buy it due to the high price.
