Birth control pills regulate your cycle and since you've been on it for awhile, you kinda sent your cycle into shock when you stopped taking them, so yes, pills have a funny way of messing up your cycles when you first start them and when you stop taking them.
Just make sure to have a back up, a condom, till your cycles have adjusted themselves again, my doctor recommended 3 cycles or months before trying to get pregnant again.

It sounds normal because you were on the pill for so long you will have spotting and sometimes more than one period a month just at 1st. As soon as your body gets back on track you will be back to normal. I would call my doctor and see if it is something you might want to go in about.

If you started a new pack and then stopped, you body thought it was time for a period. The pill stops it. When you stop the pill, it starts...whether you take it for 28 days or 8 days. Talk to your doc.
I feel your pain, once is bad enough!

This is probably normal. It has happened to me. Just try to stick with a schedule to take your pills. If you are trying to get off the pill, it will take a few cycles to get you body back on a normal schedule. Good luck. I stopped taking the pill and got pregnant the next month!
