my last period dates were
may 27 (31 days long)
june 27 (30 days long)
and july 26 (so my next period should be august 24/25)

so that turns out that i have an average of cycle of 30-31 days

anyways so since we ovulate 14 days before does this mean i ovulate on day 16 or day 17 right?

durin my last few cycles.. ive been tracking eggwhite mucus.. and i noticed that it starts around day 14 but its really less.. and then it increases.. and i have the most on day 16.. like a lot of it.. and also on day 16 i get twinges.. n my bbs feel sore.. its like i can literally feel im ovulating.. so am i correct?

ladies with a 30/31 day cycle.. if you ever used OPKs or charted your temperature.. what day did you find that you ovulate?

It's hard to say. I have a 34 day cycle and assumed that I ovulated half way through the cycle. I was wrong. We used the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor (worth every penny) and learned that I didn't ovulate until day 23 to 25. We had been trying around day 17. Had we continued to do that I never would have gotten pregnant.

I have 27-31 day cycles with 29 being the average. I use temp charting to determine ovulation although this cycle I am going to combine opk's with that to get a more exact day. I usually ovulate day 17-19 each cycle. The 14 day thing is just an average and most women do not ovulate exactly 14 days before their period. Last cycle was 30 days and I ovulated around day 19. I have a luteal phase defect that my doctor discovered through my charting. This means that I have a low amount of progesterone after ovulation. When charting after ovulation occurs you have a significant rise in temperature and it should stay that high until your next period or if you get pregnant it would remain high. But mine drops down in the middle of those days and is only about 10 days on average. 12 days of high temps is needed to sustain a pregnancy. Mine was 11 days this last cycle. I am taking Clomid to try to correct this. I would definately recommend that you chart and use opk's to make sure you to don't have a short luteal phase. Good luck ttc!!!

I have a 40 day cycle and ovulate on day 23. I believe thats like what... 18 days before my period?

AND I got pregnant from sex we had while I was ON my period.

The best thing you can do is to get some ovulation test strips from a wholesaler on ebay and test every day for a couple cycles. Theyre like 25 bucks for 50. Its worth it.
