We went into a poor nation, with no military (we didn't loose a single soldier, until after the war was over and the occupation started) to speak of and have nothing established since April 2003, then more chaos, more destruction, more hate. What makes anybody think, that is going to change in the next 30 or 50 years? The world has moved on, why can't we?

Fact - not one soldier was lost due to enemy fire, as hard as the Pentagon tried to convince us other wise (See J. Lynch)

If you want peace, send in US peace keepers. Take out the US army.
If you want to rob the Iraqis of their oil, then leave the US troops.

It is a clear choice and Americans know it. That's why the troops will stay.

Well you can't have it all the way you want it, America went piling to a country to rid it of basically one man and his party without much thought to the long term issues it surely knew it would face, even Saddam Hussein himself said the real battle would be in the streets of Baghdad street by street, as big of a monster as he was he obviously knew what he was talking about.

America can not pull out now until the situation is stabilized however long it takes, look what is now happening in Basra now that the British are pulling back, you just can't go piling into a country and then turn heel when the going gets tough.

We lost soldiers during the Invasion.

We cannot simply run away a the drop of a hat. Any withdrawwal will take time, likely on the order of 12-18 months...

All this talk of Iran.
We are giving them their freedom so who's to say even if 12-18 months from now we leave and "finish" the job that they don't take their freedom and choose to deal with Iran.

I feel that we should get out now! To those that say we should get out when the job is done: What is the job that's suppose to be done? The whole war reminds me of Little Big Horn, Wounded Knee, Sand Creek, Trail of Tears, Navajo Long Walk etc.
