If that happened, then it would mean that despite the war's umpopularity, that the american public generally has conservative values that they consider more important that the war in Iraq. I think the democrats would split into two sharply divided camps. Some would become more moderate to try and bring in moderate conservatives who oppose the war. You may even see some "states rights" democrats who come out against gay marriage and/or abortion. Other democrats who would turn even more to the left and align with MoveOn and the ACLU.
As far as Republicans are concerned. I don't know. If its a moderate like Giulliani who is elected, the Republicans may rally around a more moderate stance to get things done with the moderate democrats, or they may become too cocky and they would lose voters to the new moderate democrats. Businesses would continue to do well and taxes would remain low. A compromise on healthcare would probably be reached that would not come close to universalizing it like democrats are pushing but would adress some of the concerns.

The existing Social Security and Medicare liabilities which amount to several trillion dollars per year would increase because Congress and the President spent the money that should have been set aside for the baby-boomers retirement.
Because of this increase, the federal government will have to spend more and more tax revenue on these subsidy programs, while maintaining a cost of $10,000,000,000 per month in Iraq.
Without raising taxes (which a Republican won't do), our govt. will continue to deficit spend to the tune of about $3-4 trillion dollars per year, and will be completely beholden to the wishes of China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and several major corporations. Thus, you will see the decline of the America as a superpower.

We would have lower taxes. The initiative to FIX health care would begin again in earnest. No government control. Border Security would start again in earnest and we would be bringing our troops home from Iraq which has been the goal all along. I think there would be more cooperation out of the democrats and republicans in office seeing that congress will be turned over and all the amnesty loving monkeys will be voted out. The people of America are mad, but we certainly are not ready to surrender to terrorist, nor are we willing to go into a Socialist Regime.

If a Republican was elected President, he'll be impeached by the Democrats, because those yellow bellied surrender pinko commie liberals will cut through that "Executive Previlege" to find crimes being committed.
