It's becoming ever more present, how little Freedom we have,
Is it Right That We Should be 'Kept Track Of' and 'Watched' hence the 'Big Brother Society'

If You Own a Mobile Phone They Can Track you Down to within 10 Metres (approx) and your Mobile Service Provider, does (so i've heard) keep track of some of its customers.

If You Use the Internet Everything You Do and Download is Automatically Stored By Your Internet Provider.

CCTV is everwhere.

Is It Right?

The security cameras are all privately owned and for the protection of the owner of the property. Of course they can be subpeonad (sp?) but so can anything else that pertains to a crime. The tracking ability is a by-product of the cell tower being needed to locate the phone to connect the call, otherwise no phone call. Of course if you are a murderer the police will track you down with any resource they can think of including a cell phone. Internet service providers keep track of what people look up so they can provide better services and faster connections to things their customers value. Of course if you look up kiddie porn prosecuters will confiscate your records to put you in jail. Anything can be used by "big brother" to prosecute you if you are breaking a law. You might want to think about that before you vote your liberties away and ask the government to protect you from spam e-mail, and give you free healthcare, and all that stuff. Once the government has access to something they will use it, just like anyone else. It' common sense. If you are that bothered by it all, don't own the products, use the services, or go to places that have those things. It's a free market economy, so far you still have that choice.

It may or may not be right but it is the spin off from the technology, your mobile phone`s signal is received by the closest available aerial, the signal will be at it`s strongest at this point, receivers further away get weaker signals. Now it doesnt take a lot of math to work out where your mobile is. besides radio direction finders were used during the last war, so the technology is not new, it`s that most people are now walking round with a radio transmitter. Store cards?, don`t use them. Phone tapping has been around since the invention of the phone. Internet? Use it as if you don`t want the person looking over your shoulder seeing what you are doing. The proliferation of cctv caused by the ar**oles of this world, but, dead handy for catching the ar**oles.

No it is not ...it is a shocking invasion of our privacy ...I read that - the space station can peek on us while we are sitting on the loo... god- I hope I have clean knickers on...! But what pisses me off is that the Authorities dont seem to be using their secret powers to track down and Jail - the likes of web perv's and terrorists ... they only seem to use it to disrupt ordinary Joe & Jane Publics life.
