As someone who knows what you are going through, not necessarily Iraq but whom has had to deal with stop loss.

First of all, I want to say I totally disagree about the reasoning of stop loss.

But you've got only 4 years to retirement, try and stick it out.

if you really want to get out and with an honorable discharge, here's what you do.

1. Get a Bar to Reenlistment, anything, fail pt test, fail a weigh in.

2. Once you have the Bar, put in for a Chapt 15 administrative discharge(Failure to overcome a Bar). This administrative discharge is a voluntary one, meaning you have to put the paperwork in for it. Since its voluntary, you will receive an honorable discharge.

if you got more questions, talk to your Bn Legal specialist, or just ask for the regs concerning administrative discharges.

I'm sorry, but I think that the system is terrible and the government is terrible and that you are over there for nothing. Not that I am disrespecting you! I have the highest respect for people in the military and you went out and bravely fought being told it was the only way to save our freedom. Unfortunately, since the war has started, our own GOVERNMENT has taken away more of our freedom than anybody else, and this war is helping them do it, so they are going to drag it out as long as they can. It is wrong that they treat the people that willingly risk their lives for us so terribly! I think that they care nothing about service members and think of you as tools, and I wish I didn't have to say that. You signed up to be in a certain amount of time, and the fact that they can FORCE YOU to stay in and keep putting your life in danger against YOUR will is communism!
