I've been watching" David Acorahs Ghost Towns", and I'm inclined to agree that when we die, depending on the way in which we die, sometimes our energy is left behind. What do you believe? Have you had any ghostly encounters?

I have had encounters with my grandma. I know she will be waiting for me when it is time for me to go. She's not a confused spirit wandering around thinking she is alive. That's usually what is meant when we say "ghost". I've had others too, but they all know I will freak out if I can see them. If we can communicate, fine, but I don't think I can handle seeing them. One time my grandpa came to me in a dream-like state. It was wonderful to see him and know he is waiting until it is my time. I think our energy is only left behind if we are confused, or have unfinished business. Even then we are confused because you can't finish business when your body no longer functions. I also think that some of us are too easily swayed into thinking we have had an encounter when it's really something else. We just want to believe there is an after life. Once I knew that was true, I didn't need to even consider those who had crossed over, other than to talk at them and hope they get my messages of how much I love them and miss them. I can't wait to go, just not sure how I feel about the trip itself.

Blessed Be

I'm not sure that this would constitute a ghostly encounter but when my mother passed I didn't make it to the hospital in time. A few weeks after I dreamed of her coming to me and saying goodbye and I awoke to a sense that she really had just walked out of the room and I swear she actually spoke to me. I'd like to think that the energy we leave behind is there to guide the ones we love most through the rest of their lives

I personally have never seen a ghost before and I am the type that has to see it to believe it. Not saying that it isn't possible for them to exist. i am a big fan of the show "ghost hunters" and 99% of the time they spell out the facts that its possible they were there but, they have no solid evidence. Kinda almost like aliens.

My next door neighbor believe they lived with a "friendly" ghost and had a picture of their couch coushin that was imprinted as if someone was sitting there, yet no one was. Hmmmmm

Cheers

Yes, I believe in ghosts! There have been many encounters in which it has led me to this conclusion! I am living in a unit that used to be owned by someone that recently died in a car crash and since we bought the place there have been some strange encounters but I don't believe she means any harm.

I wouldn't believe in ghosts, but one experience I had leaves me open minded:
I was spending the night at a friend's house. The house is over 150 years old, and was rumored to be haunted. That being the case, I never wanted to be by myself.
One night, we were playing video games (Mario Kart, to be exact), and after not-too-long I realized I was the only one awake. Being as late as it was (almost 5am), and against my instincts, I decided it was time to call it a night and turn off the TV -- the only source of light in the room.
I laid down on the couch, and not a minute later I heard this strange buzzing sound, followed by "BONG! BONG! BONG! BONG! BONG!" It turned out to be just the grandfather clock, but it still scared the crap out of me.
After I calmed down and started to get comfortable, I started to feel a tingly feeling in the back of my neck & on my head -- my hair was standing up. Seconds later, I hear a strange moaning sound coming from the foot of the couch. The sound oscillated kinda like a siren, but it was off-key, almost like an opera singer imitating a police siren. I looked at where it was coming from, and there was nobody there. Had there been, I would've seen their sillouette against the window. It lasted for about 30 seconds, and I just pretended to be dead the entire time. I still don't know what that was.

NO ghost are not real. I have heard many stories about them and all are caused by a very good imagination. I do believe that a person doesn't just die--and that there has to be more to it than that. But to think that people's souls and spirits wonder this earth with "unfinished business" is absurd. I saw my grandmother die recently in a hospital room and I can tell you for a fact that she is somewhere else. Because I saw her spirit leave her body.

I work in an aged care facility, and sometimes, especially at night, I think I see dead people. One night I saw the ghost of a man who had passed away a week previously walking down the hallway, as clear as anything... and I about jumped out of my skin, then I realized it was one of my colleagues.

I do believe in ghosts because I have had some terrifying experiences before. Also seems like little kids and dogs/cats are always looking at something that I can't see.
