I know that he joined some club and was getting them ever other month or so for a 3 year membership. They where some sort of crugerans 1 - 2 oz I think african. Have you ever heard of this??? Who is the company who sent them? How can I track these down? I dont have the coins myself. My evil step mother does, and I have to prove that he did have them. PLEASE any info at all will be help!!

The gold Krugerrand was started in 1967 it 's gold content is .917 and has one once of actual gold weight. As gold started to go up in price people starting buying them for an investment. When the ownership of gold was changed here in the USA on 12/31/74 a lot of Americans started to buy them also. This was before the U.S. mints started minting their own gold bullion coins. For a while do to South Africa's policy called apartheid, the coins were illegal to sell here, the already in the country were okay. They are being sold again for the ban was lifted. I don't know about any club but there were a lot of dealers selling them and some had subscription systems. Also on further looking there were some Krugerrands made at the Gold Reef City mint in Johannesburg. They seem to be quite scarce and do command a high value, they seem to be more of a collectors item. They have a book value of up to $1,600. They have GRC on them. Hope this helps some.
