I had a guy who was pertified of my dogs even though they are soft as anything. I think having 26 ferrets is a bit off putting too lol. I don't think alot of the time its the actual animals that put guys off but the amount of time I spend with them and how important they are to me. My animals come before anyone they are the most important things in my life.

no way, i personally woulnt be interested in anyone who didnt like animals anyway and it would not bother me if they disliked the fact that i love pets cause at the end of the day we wouldnt be suited, its not like say a bloke liking football and a girl liking shopping and each gets on with there own thing, with a pet you have to care for it, it's not just a passtime or a hobby, youre the one that looks after it.
and anyway for as many girls/boys that are grossed out by the fact that a potential partner shows so much affection to an animal, there are many more (such as myself) that find it sweet, caring and loyal. i personally dont get how anyone can find it horrid when someone they like could get so much pleasure and show so much affection to a defenceless, dependent pet, if anything they should be greatfull that this person is so caring

Yes very much so depending on the person. I have a Lab and 2 cats. Several men I've met don't like either the hair (I keep a very clean house though)or the competition (dog is a little possessive). However at least I know early on if it's a relationship worth pursuing as I don't care to be with anyone that doessn't like animals.

It can put off potential suitors. I have been to people's houses that have large dogs running around everywhere. They shed everywhere. Eating at a house like that is a gamble of eating dog hair in every bite. It can be the same with animals in people's beds. Almost every house that has an animal indoors will smell like the animal.

No - because I would never choose anyone who didn't like animals anyway. I would even have problems with someone with allergies. Animals are part of my life and the person I'm going to share my life with would have to be an animal person. Also, in general, people who like animals in my experience are more compassionate and kind in my opinion.
My animals are clean, well trained and have manners. They sleep on their own beds and don't jump on furniture. My house is clean and does not smell and if a stray dog or cat hair puts you off, then you are too much of a priss for me. No reason for anyone to be put off anyway unless they really dislike animals, which as I said, would be a problem for me.
I've been married for a long time to another animal lover.

I wouldn't be interested in a person that was not an animal lover me and my two collies come as a package but i suppose some people can't be bothered with animals too much looking after and quite frankly i couldn't be bothered with people like that the rewards you receive from your pet (companionship, unconditional love etc)make all the walks in the rain and snow worthwhile even when you have to hoover your house twice a day because their casting (i have very hairy collies)

Not in my experience. When i met my husband I didn't have any pets. He owned a dog and I am scared of dogs. When i went over his house they ahd to make sure the dog didn't come inside. I don't think that affected out relationship. Maybe it could work the other way. Maybe someone could think your dog is cute while taking it for a walk in the park and the relationship starts from there.....

No, never. Because i have pets, and always have, if the person cant tolerate my animal, then sorry, i dont tolerate them. My pet is loyal, trusting, companionship, safety and many more things to me. What is the point in starting a relationship with a person when you know that they would never accept your pet, so therefore your relationship would never progress to living together, marriage or whatever.

it depends on the pet, my partner has 2 horses and the cost of keeping them is really expensive, she even has 2 drive a jeep 2 transport them, even tho we live in dublin city, shes talking about us buying a place soon, but there's no way of keeping 2 horse's, a small 1 bed here cost over 300,000 in a working class area, and some dogs 4 example are dangerous, g. shepards, rottweilers, bulldogs and all lockjaws are been banned in dublin and that will mean nationwide, although d'ont agree with that, smaller dogs seem more hostile 2 me, g.shepards are cool in my opinion

No. It gives a much better chance of speaking to someone you don't know if you have a pet with you (dogs preferably). As long as your pet allows the new man/woman into your home then there should be no problem.
