Pick 1 monologue and one song you know you can nail. In Junior High and High school I used the same monologue from ROSENKRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD 3 auditions a year, and I was usually somewhere in the cast. :-)

Breath from the diaphragm, stay relaxed, being nervous never helps. And whatever part you get, offer to understudy for a bigger role "just in case."

Knock 'em dead.

Well, sorry to tell you that Annie has a fairly difficult score. If you have access to iTunes or Limewire download some of the music or go to a store that sells used CDs and see if you can buy the soundtrack fairly cheap. You can also hear short clips by looking up the album on Amazon.com

What you can do also is 6 days a week do vocal warm ups (humming, sing scales, etc.). On the 7th days, complete vocal rest. Remember never to strain your voice. If your cannot sing a note comfortably, wait until you can. Expanding your range comes with time and work. You will hurt your voice if you push it too much. Stay hydrated. Lots of water and stay away from soda and milk products.

Go to www.musicaltheatreaudition.com and www.sageagent.com. Explore the sites for lots of tips. You can also look up Annie and all the roles, descriptions, etc.
