i am taking cerazette, which has been giving me irregular periods. i have only been on it for 1 month and 2 weeks.
I am so depressed being on my period for this long and i am going on holiday in 2 weeks.

Is there anything else i can take to help me 'skip a period'.

(apart from taking pill continuously)

thanks x

Hey, I was prescribed this pill as well and when I first took it I was the same. I had periods which would last 2 nearly 3 weeks and then stop for 4 or 5 days and then back on again. It was awful so I switched to a different kind which controlled the bleeding better but made me so irritable and emotional and also gave me extremely bad pains. So in the end I decided to go back to Cerazette just to see if it would be any better if I gave it a bit longer to get used to my body.

So I started with 3 months of cerazette, then 3 months of a different one and am just coming to the end of my second lot of 3 months on Cerazette. This last cycle has been 6 weeks without a period and just 6 days of bleeding which I think is loads better. I also have a couple of friends taking it and they sometimes go a couple or three months with nothing but some spotting.

My advice would be to stick it out for a little while longer if this is the only downside to taking it. Let your body get used to it and make a decision then. As for you holiday I believe the doctor will be able to prescribe you something to prevent you from bleeding while you are on your holiday.

Hope you have a great time where ever it is you are going :o)

I was exactly the same. However about 2 and a half years ago I went on to depo, which is a injection given every 12 weeks by your doctor or nurse and, for me, that stopped my periods all together! Eventually i swopped over to the Implanon implant, but i am now going back on thursday to have it taken out and to be given depo again. Talk to your doctor about these, they are both fantastic and work differently for different people!
Hope this helps!

U cud have the contraceptive injection... That is meant to stop your periods completly - u have to have the injection every 12wks. When i had it my periods stopped that same day!! But on the down side, when my best friend hd it she bled for about 40 days!!! (yikes) but she has polycystic ovaries i think that might be why.

Speak to somone at the clinic/doctors they will have all the info u need, and as we dont know ur medical history its probably not wise to take our advise as law.

I hope u find something that works - and ignore those daft comments about 'get pregnant' - idiots...

Peace x

I am not sure if this is true or not but I've heard by studying up on it through various sources online that if you have a completeley vegetarian diet that includes nothing but raw vegetables you will no longer have periouds.

Though you will have to stop eating and drinking everything you like.
You will not be allowed even salad dressing.

Talk to your doctor immediately.

Though, since you just started your second(?) pack, it may regulate soon. It took me three pill packs to get my periods on schedule, so just give it time to regulate.

p.s. don't take depo! the shot you take every three months that some people here are talking about. I was on it for four years and so glad I'm OFF of it.

Contact your GYN and he/she can help you out on that one. I worked in an ob/gyn office before and I know that there is a way with birth control pills to be able to skip a period.

I hope you get to feeling better!!!
