We don't know whether philosophers live too much in their heads. We might undertake an investigation, we might interview one thousand certified philosophers plus an equal amount of amateur self-declared philosphers, so to achieve some reliable statistical data about this issue, so to guess whether they live too much or too little in their heads.

Furthermore there are many different philosophies of several different types.

Generally philosophy is thought to deal with all problems concerning human life. Thus, a philosophy may be the accumulated wisdom of human beings driven by a staunch will to know more in order to make us more and better than just criteria-ridden apes.

Whatever we do in a conscious way, it is done by thinking. Thus we think while we behave, while we do something, thus we reason while we work, thus we use our heads, thus we operate in a rational way while living in our heads with our heads, and this is that which makes us philosophers, those who act while knowing, those who are conscious while acting, those who use their brain while they act.

Those philosophers who seem to live too much in their heads may thus be said to live in an enhanced way, more conscious, more intelligent, more alive.
