You might have interferance of some sort between your wireless access point, and your phone. I would try changing the channel that your AP uses. If you are useing channel 1, switch to 6 or 11. If you are useing 6, switch to 1, or 11. If you are useing 11, switch to 1, or 6. If you are useing 2 - 5, switch to 11. If you are useing 7 - 10, switch to 1.

This happens to me at the library. They have new cordless phones that are on a similar or the same frequency as the wireless.

I've been told switching to a digital wireless phone can avoid that problem. Any one know that for sure?

Is it a cordless phone? Cordless phones and wireless internet are both radio waves. The phone might be interfering with the transmission of your wireless access point.

Because your wireless phone uses the same 2.4 frequency as your WiFi card and is causing interference.

Replace the phone with a 900MHZ 0r 5.8GHZ unit.
