I read they shoot jets of ink on the page. Some printers use the static electricity in the page to attract ink released. It's hard to understand how they ever managed to develop all the methods of printing and actually make a machine that can do it.

there are two types of ink jet printer, Piezoelectric and thermal.
Piezoelectric (like epson) have a small crystal integrated into each nozzle. To form a print an electric current is introduced to the crystal causing it to vibrate and "push" ink out of the nozzle. This is done thousands of times per second. It is a more reliable, albeit more expensive print head.

Thermal Inkjets (like HP and lexmark) use heat to expand ink and push it through the nozzle. When heat is introduced to the ink (via a tiny capacitor) it cases it to expand, thus forcing it out the nozzle. The technology is also called "bubble jet" because a small bubble is formed when the ink expands.

a.If the printer has been idle for a volume of time, it is going to in many circumstances struggle by using a short sparkling cycle to be sure that the print head(s) are sparkling. as quickly as the sparkling cycle is finished, the printer is in a position to start printing. b.The administration circuitry prompts the paper feed stepper motor. This engages the rollers, which feed a sheet of paper from the paper tray/feeder into the printer. A small set off mechanism contained in the tray/feeder is depressed whilst there is paper contained in the tray or feeder. If the set off isn't depressed, the printer lighting fixtures fixtures up the "Out of Paper" LED and sends an alert to the laptop. c.as quickly as the paper is fed into the printer and located on the beginning up of the internet site, the print head stepper motor makes use of the belt to flow the print head assembly around the internet site. The motor pauses for the merest fraction of a 2d each and each time that the print head sprays dots of ink on the internet site and then strikes a tiny bit until eventually now combating back. This stepping happens so quickly that it kind of sounds like a continuous action. d.multiple dots are made at each and each stop. It sprays the CMYK colorings in precise quantities to make the different color which you could think of. e.on the top of each and every finished bypass, the paper feed stepper motor advances the paper a fragment of an inch. counting on the inkjet kind, the print head is reset to the beginning up ingredient of the internet site, or, in maximum circumstances, basically reverses direction and starts to flow back around the internet site because it prints.
