Listening to the Michael Savage radio program last night (that bastion of conservatism) and he's predicting that Hillary will win in 2008. But shortly after she takes office she will re-institute the draft. The reason being, politics aside, everybody in a leadership position in Washington, democrats and republicans, realize that we are in a war against Islamic facism and if we are going to survive as a nation we have to win. We can't come home from Iraq because the world wide war will continue wheather we are in Iraq or not. Anyway, the decision will be made that since we have to win this war, we have to make an all out effort.
What are your thought on Hillary (or anyone else who is elected) re-instituting the draft in order to win the war?

Look, I realize a president can't institute legislation alone (he needs Congress to pass it), however, a president, if he's any kind of a leader, can push and prod Congress into passing certain legislation.

Uh, Hillary, like all Dems, will let the military go to hell . They despise and loathe the military, so I don't think there's any danger of her doing that...

we dont need a draft just now and both sides know it. democrats only pretend to want a draft when a republican is in office so that can get a good protest going. and maybe a riot or two. they have discovered that its hard to get a decent riot off the ground without one.
but there would be no point if we elect a hippie president.

Mrs. Clinton won't be elected. A president, alone, cannot institute the draft. It has to be done in Congress. There would be weeping and gnashing of teeth so loud that it won't happen. Remember immigration reform.

Yes and in time of war there should be a draft. Every American should feel the reality of war. Our current system exploits the poor and underprivileged. If all Americans had to fight including the rich it would bring the war home to more Americans. Lets face it if your rich you will never have to fight a war in this country!
