I don't know about fired, but he sure is overrated. Dick Jauron built that defense. The offense sucks! Lovie Smith built the defense for the Rams that wasn't any good. He probably got his job through affirmative action.

No Lovie Smith doesn't need fired, he is the best Bears coach since the one and only Ditka. Grossman makes mistakes yes but if anyone needs fired it is the offensive coordinator for calling so many passes all the time. The Bears are a power running team always have been always will be. The biggest mistake was trading Thomas Jones to the Jets, he was the best back Chicago has had since the GREATEST RUNNING BACK EVER!!! Walter Payton. The Bears should have used Jones and Benson more and Grossman less the less the ball is in his hands the better. Plus he is on the last year of his contract and the Bears may not re-sign him if his horrendous ups and downs continue through the season.

Not to sound repetitive but Lovie got us to the SB. If you are talking about Monday night's game, Griese sucked when he was put in. So all this talk about, "oh if Griese was in you guys could have won the superbowl.." is complete BS. For a person that spent two years with an injury, to come out only to continue the legacy of NFC champions, a bad *** defense, awesome special teams and the offense has minor improvements to make but they're still just as great. Although the QB is supposed to be the brains behind the game, it's ultimately the team that wins.

You do realize that Grossman has fewer than 32 NFL starts under his belt, right? NFL GMs agree that you can't tell whether a QB will pan out or not until he has at least 2 seasons worth of starts.
Some teams have given up on their QBs too soon (example: Kyle Boller), and some teams have held on to their QBs for too long after it was clear things weren't going to work out (example: Joey Harrington, Charlie Frye).
If the Bears gave up on Grossman now, they would be getting rid of him too soon. However, if he doesn't get significantly more consistent this season, I think Grossman should go at the end of the season. Same thing goes for Eli Manning in NY.

Lovie Smith got the Bears to the Superbowl. He hardly deserves to be fired for that reason alone.
And quite frankly, there is a limit to how much you can blame your coach for a player's lack of performance. Yes, the coach is supposed to guide the quarterback, but at some point the quarterback needs to stand alone and actually perform. Grossman's inability to perform is his own lack of experience, not Lovie Smith's fault.

Stonewall your a dumba$$.
Lovie is the reason the bears even have a good enough team to get to the superbowl. Lovie is a defensive minded coach thats why the Bears D carried the O last year to the superbowl.
Grossman needs to be fired. Lovie had fought for him, so he can't reneg on his word just yet.

Well he got them to a Super Bowl with him, it was his first year starting without being injured, it was preseason game. You all need to relax.
Lovie Smith is a damn good coach who will make the proper adjustments if needed. He has more options this year at QB and if Rex starts off the year very bad he will make the proper adjustments.

Uh...No...They made it to the Super Bowl last year...It wasn't Griese, Orton or anyone else back there...It was Grossman...He's the starter because he is the best QB they have...
