Democrats use our tax dollars to buy votes from the disadvantaged. You are right to be wary of them.

Personally, I agree with you. The reason is that democrats are pushing our government further down the path towards socialism. In a capitalistic society, everyone has to work for themselves. That is personal responsibility. People are losing that responsibility because they do not need to have it to survive anymore. If they do not do well, what does it matter? Anyone can apply for well fare. Taxes are also a big part of it. Where do our tax dollars go? Why do I have to use my money to pay for someone that refuses to make their own? Why should I pay for their health care and my own? Worse than that is the question, why do I continue to pay for them? What can I do to get money for nothing? I believe that people will actually ask these questions and stop working just to get money for nothing. If that is the truth, what has our society become? More and more people "need" help with money, and less and less people are making money. Are we working based on ability and being paid based on need? If so, why are we working at all? Democrats need to realize that the road they have chosen looks fantastic at first, but it leads straight to death. They are not paying people for their work, but for their lack of work. If this is the case, soon enough no one will be working and everyone will expect payment. Who will pay the bills then?

There is no politician that DOESN'T 'give' things away. Democrats are generally know to be advocates of better social programs. However, you could consider the billions of dollars used to fund the war in Iraq a 'give-away'. These are American tax dollars being sent out of the country. At least in a domestic program, our tax dollars are 'recycled' back into the economy. The effects of this on our economy can be seen here. (I have no idea why it says 'CapeCanaveral'. This is a graphic representation of our buget and deficits over the last hundred years.)

In recent years, more Democrats seem to be the fiscally responsible candidates, and more Republicans seem to go 'overbudget'. Of the last 4 presidents, only the Clinton Administration lowered our budget and our debt. This is not a 'party' issue anymore. Republicans are just as guilty (if not more so) of 'pork barrel' spending as Democrats.
I'm like you, in that I never have really identified with either party. But, after 2 terms of seeing Bush waste American lives and money in a pointless war...I'm ready for a change....

Yes they do, and they like to line their own pockets...
Taxes rise when democrats are in and taxes decrease when republicans are in.....But politicians are politicians and they all have their own agendas!
Since there are only two parties they don't have to worry if we like what they are doing and get by with it!!!
There needs to be more parties....But the problem with voting for some one of not of either party is you risk getting the democrats in....

in actual fact that Democrats had little or no skill till Obama took workplace, and the present recession/disaster grew to become into firmly in place properly earlier that. there grew to become right into a Democratic Congress, yet that they had merely fifty one votes interior the Senate, which isn't adequate to bypass costs under Senate rules. So up till 2009, the country grew to become into nonetheless ruled by skill of a Republican administration under the Republican rules made into regulation from 2001 - 2006.

Because, like all politicians, the more they give away the better chance they'll have at being re-elected.
Democrats give it away through social programs that help the disadvantaged; sick; elderly; underprivileged; hungry; disabled; poor; unemployed; undereducated and homeless.
Republicans give it away through corporate welfare programs that help rich, profitable companies become richer and more profitable while cutting jobs; shipping jobs overseas; downsizing for 'efficiency'; paying CEO salaries that are 800 times greater than that of their average employee; rewarding shareholders; and minimizing the level of goods or services provided to customers.
The runaway costs of social welfare programs are minuscule compared to the runaway spending for corporate welfare programs. It seems to me that if we can afford the runaway spending of a multi-trillion-dollar 'war' we ought to be able to spend a few hundred billion on helping our fellow Americans in need.
So who 'needs' all that government money most? Mighty corporations or the less fortunate of our citizenry?
All the money that goes toward corporate welfare in the form of tax incentives, tax abatements, bail-outs, or special subsidies 'trickles down' to the plumber who installs the gold-plated faucets in the CEO's lavish bathrooms. All the money that goes toward social welfare in the form of Social Security, disability and welfare checks at least keeps some people alive at a minimal subsistence level.
Personal responsibility is something that some people in our world simply can't assume, either because they lack the education to so; they're sick or disabled; they've been browbeaten into submission of a desolate life of despair which they can't overcome; they suffer from alcoholism or drug abuse, or they're just plain lazy.
Corporate responsibility is something that corporations don't wish to assume because it's easier to make a big campaign contribution and wait for the government hand-out than it is to knuckle under, cut expenses (particularly executive salaries), and roll up their sleeves to make their companies more productive and profitable. -RKO- 08/21/07

DarkS's answer is subtle but correct. Often it is said that the Dems tax and spend, the repubs borrow and spend. It has been this way ever since we started. Another observation went like this: "The US Treasury was started with nothing and that's the most we ever had". My words aren't correct here but u get the idea. I think it might be one of Mark Twain's.
Even Abe Lincoln made such observations. Even Reagen with his famous,"Don't worry about it, it's just a number on a spreadsheet somewhere". He was referring to the Trillion dollar increase in our debt that he borrowed.
There's nothing u can do about it, so don't worry about it. Try to see the humor in it.
Edit add: Here's one of mine (i know it needs work)
Give a man a fish and u feed him for one day
Teach him to fish and u feed him for a lifetime
Teach him to sell fish and he can buy a house
Teach him to sell fish to the government and he can buy a mansion

Notice that each of them has already acheived the American Dream.
It is akin to winning a race, then changing the rules so that everybody else can only tie for second. All equally disempowered to resist the will of the winner.

You are not exactly correct. The democrats do not want to give away everything. They have no desire to give away there own stuff. They are very generous with your stuff.
If people are personally responsible, who needs democrats?

They like to give everything away because they are guilt ridden that they obtained it in the first place by not really working for it but by taxing it and taking it from those who do, the American working middle class
