London Underground has tube lines running under the River Thames, not the sea. The Channel Tunnel runs under the sea, the English Channel.
If you wish to find alternative mode of transport then feel free to do so. There are buses, taxis, walking, and cycles to get across the river. There are also ferries and planes to get you across the English Channel.

Give it a few years....
Think of it like the New York Metro. That's exactly what the Tube is. An urban underground railway network in the city.
It does pass under the Thames River at various points, but it's not a common thing. There are a total of 8 under-river tunnels, out of 13 lines, and one of them crosses in two places.
You don't notice it when you're down there though.

The rail line linking England to France is under the English Channel. There is no sea in London - just the River Thames

As the river Thames is tidal through central london, technically, the tube could be said to be under the sea as the water is at sea-level.

I won't tell you the London Underground (tube) is under the sea, because it isn't !!!
I suggest you invest in an Atlas and a Ordnance Survey Map, before visiting our country! LOL

It's wet down there. The underground system runs under the Thames. If there weren't pumps chucking the water out, most of the system would flood.
Don't worry. It hasn't flooded since 1954, and they had plenty of warning that time.

the underground is under London, London is not located on any sea, though if you travel from London to France, you will be using Eurostar and is does run under the English Channel
