Happy with Ratten as coach?
The Blues couldn't afford anyone else! With the fines they had to pay for old puffing John Elliott's shonky salary cap deals & having to pay Denis Pagan out on his contract - they haven't much left in the kitty.
They couldn't afford one of the coaches on the open market so they had to opt for one of their own. Ratten is only gunna get about $150.00 per week - plus a few bonus' like free beer in the members bar after a win (that won't set the club back much!); a free club tracksuit; a free parking spot for his 1982 Camira car; ......& a promise that the players wont refer to him in public as 'Wingnut'.

yep richofev its a good thing,hes 36 years old so the players can relate,hes a champion of the club so respect isn't an issue,he's not long out of the games so he understands the modern game and the demands on players that go with it,he was highly regarded at Melbourne when he was the midfield coach and the Dee's midfield was on fire, I'm not concerned we haven't won yet under him and to be honest i hope we don't win so we do get the priority pick because if the AFL want to reward mediocrity then we should take full advantage while we are in the position-i don't think we are tanking but the losses aren't a bad thing :)

I htink its good in that they have kept the family 2gether but was dissapointed after the losses for him 2 continue with this line of "they lost but gotta be proud that they tried hard" No Im not proud they tried when they didnt try hard enuff. Some one needs to give em a kick up the ass (remember when blight took the the crows "pitiful pitman") They are being babied which is allright for the babies, Gibbs, Murphy but the rest need to start standing up & being accountable for themselves

After the last disgracefull effort, Nor hell or high water could save them. Need a younger line up next year. Maybe then we will have hope. Oh dont you get me started on the Blues it is a love hate relationship with me right now. If Ratten can save them good luck, he will need it.
