Larry Doby first black player in the American Leauge played with the Cleveland Indians. On July 5, 1947, just 11 weeks after Jackie Robinson broke baseball's color barrier, Doby joined the Indians.

Later, with the 1978 Chicago White Sox, Doby became just the second black to manage a major league team, following Frank Robinson.

On a side note AL Downing was the first black starting pitcher here is some info about him

Alphonso Erwin Downing (born June 28, 1941, in Trenton, New Jersey) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for 17 seasons from 1961-1977. He entered the majors with the New York Yankees, and then played for the Oakland Athletics and Milwaukee Brewers before retiring with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Downing is most remembered for surrendering the record-breaking 715th home run hit by Hank Aaron on April 8, 1974.

Downing wasn't the first black starting pitcher.

The 1956 Cy Young Award winner (the first winner, BTW) Don Newcombe beat him by more than ten years (1949).
