I would have picked brady quinn on the draft to be my starting QB if I were the Bears coach. Man, he always sucked big time.

Lloyd Grossman?-yeh he's really that bad

2007-08-20 23:44:57 · answer #1 · answered by bobthebrowser 6 · 1 0

Grossman isn't that bad; but is just wildly inconsistent. He will follow a 18-25 286 yards 3 TD game with a 5-21 88 yards 3 INT game with 3 fumbles. Brian is right. When he's on, he is on. He has a great arm and can put the ball on the spot.

Grossman's problem is pocket prescence. He is absolutely terrified in the pocket which is why he forces so many throws and throws so many interceptions. Second is he gets rattled easily. If he makes a mistake you can be sure more are to come. Third he doesn't do the little things. Like getting the snap clean. If I'm Lovie Smith I tell Grossman that if you can't get the snap from center your not going to play. Period.

If Grossman doesn't force his throws and can hold onto the football he would be a pretty good NFL Quarterback. I'm sure he isn't great at reading NFL Defenses. One of those fumbles last night wasn't really his fault. But every other mistake was 100 percent Grossman. Griese doesn't have the arm strength or accuracy. Orton just isn't talented enough. But those two guys won't turn the ball over at the consistent rate that Grossman does. Rex needs to learn to hold onto the football. You have the defense to make up for not moving the chains, but not one for turning the ball over on the 20 yard line.

It's difficult because he shows signs of being a great, yes I did say great, quarterback. I mean at one during the season last year he was a MVP candidate. The Bears are putting a lot of hope in someone who can/will win games by himself and lose games by himself. He has the weapons to be great, or at least good. One of the top offensive lines, a great system for running backs (even though they don't have a steady one at the moment), top 3 defense, possession wr, deep threat, talent te's (love Olsen), and a great coach with very good co-.

Not going to settle down on a crap label yet because last year was his first whole season with out injury. But considering he has more experience than most young QB's, playing in the Super Bowl and leading his team there, and he has a cast that any decent QB could look top notch, he has to do well this season. If not, then I will agree on what others say.

Grossman will be the reason that the Bears won't make it back to the Superbowl. He was one of the reasons they didn't win it last year. Griese is better & I don't understand why they don't switch. All the Bears fans get ready for a let down this year they won't be as good as last year. If you look at last years schedule they should have lost to Arizona, Minnesota twice & I'm sure I could find two or three more games there defense saved them in. The defense isn't as good as last year so be ready for a disappointing year. they will make the playoffs but probably lose in the 2nd round just like 2 years ago when Steve Smith beat them by himself.

Why is everyone ragging on Grossman? He's not the only inconsistent QB in the NFL. Not only that, but he is a heck of a lot better than a lot of other QBs, hence the SB title and divisional champs. Think about it, even with his follies, he has still managed a really good success rate after being on the injured list for two years.

Yeah, 3 fumbles, an interception, and a 51.1 QB rating against Indy's defense last night. I read he tried to blame crowd noise and a sweaty spot on the football for the fumbles. What a joke!

Griese came in and went 10 for 13 for 131 yards and a TD. Granted, he probably played against 2nd or 3rd stringers on defense, but c'mon...when is Lovie Smith going to give up on the Grossman charity case? He's so inconsistent and needs to be benched. Give Griese a shot at starting.

No. He's REALLY inconsistant. I'm no fan of his but some games he has a QB rating over 100, so he's not terrible. I think he doesn't get focussed every game--remember that game last year at the end of the season that was meaningless as far as play-off seedings, his rating was like 10.

Uh...Being that the Bears were in the Super Bowl, they had the 31st pick in the draft...Quinn was gone at 22...

Yes he is. He will always be inconsistant.

Did anyone see Urlacher's post game interview talking about the faith they have in Grossman. He actually said "when he is on he is the best in the league".

Now I am all for supporting your teammate but please Brian. Even Rex doesnt believe that.
