I tried to transfer files to my new computer and the time remaining meter said it had 77 hours 43min 15 sec Is this normal??? Is there an easier or quicker way?

Yes, that is normal, if you have a large amount of files / big files. A faster way is to use a "Laplink" cable. It connects the same way, only with the parallel "printer" ports. This is much faster.

Even faster would be to just burn the files to a CD, transfer them over a network connection, or even e-mail them to yourself. But I'm guessing those options are not available yo you.

Use a lan cable between them, it will need to be a cross-over cable. I hope you are not trying to copy the whole system over, this will do no good at all. Only the data files can be copied correctly.
