Volcanic, a single eruption from a volcano is equivilent to a year of human activity across the whole world, it sounds wird but it's actually true.

Volcanic, and by a long way. Read Bill Bryson's 'A short history of nearly everything', the chapter on volcanic activity is fascinating, as is the whole book.
