Last year I was in a Fantasy league and I managed to pull off a 2nd place victory. I am in the same league this year with most of the same fellas as last year and I am the only girl and would like to take it all this year!! I picked 10th in a serpentine draft and it seemed to work out alright but this year I was looking for a better way. Any ideas on what postion to draft from? I was thinking 5th because then I have the same amount of people drafting in between. I really want to take the Championship from some of those guys who count me out because I am "just a girl!"

What if I really didnt want LT? He really isnt my prime objective. I would actually take LJ before LT because LT doesnt have a lot to work with as far as the rest of the team is concerned (QB-R). Would you say that if NOT wanting LT is my goal that going 5th is a good option?

Yeah, being in the middle is somewhat nice because you don't get stuck with the loooooong waits that people drafting 1st or 10th do when thedraft order reverses. You aren't as vulnerable to runs on a specific position because you'll never have to wait through 19 picks. The only problem is that you're not getting one of the top 4 RBs. You'll have to take a chance on someone like Shaun Alexander, Joseph Addai or Brian Westbrook as your #1. You are almost guaranteed to get a stud WR though.
Good Luck! Make those manly men cry :)

For this year, it seems that the first pick would be the best, as LT is head and shoulders above everyone else. With the first pick you will be able to take more risks later in the draft just because of LT. However, this year I also, extremely like the 5th overall pick. I believe that there are 5 "stud" backs this year (LT,SJax,LJ,Gore,Alexander). However outside of LT there is no real consensus on where the other 4 should go (SJax is usually #2 though). The 5th pick is great as you will get one of these premier backs, and you will also be in position to pick up a quality #2 RB and a top WR with your 2nd/3rd round picks.
Hope this helps, and Good Luck

I'm in a 16 team league and it seems like the past 4 or 5 years, the winners have all drafted in the lower half. I won with a #15 selection and failed miserably with a #4 and #2. I would love the lower half. I don't know how many people are in your league but my philosophy is the lower the better. Just do a little research and I'm sure you'll do fine. Good luck!

number one is a great draft number.
i have tried many mock(fake) drafts and basicly i have tried every different posistion, but they where with 12 people(14 rounds).
here is my best results (with the #1 draft pick)
QB - Donovan McNabb + JP Losman
RB - LaDainian Tomlinson + Tatum Bell + Micheal Turner
WR - Marvin Harrison + Tori Holt + Donald Driver + Javon Walker + Calvin Johnson + Brandon Jones
TE - Jeremey Shockey
K - Adam Vinateri
D - New England
I also had a good outcome with picks #2, #3, #7, and #8. But then again it all comes down to who makes a dumb pick and something could just land right in your lap so no one could really predict a great draft number. you just have to see what happens...

if you do get to pick your draft order..... you gotta go 1. bottom line is LT gets like 40 fantasy points a week.. LJ doesn't have as much on his team, so everyone is going to crowd him. Any one that passes over LT is asking to lose, and it will come back to haunt you.

You've got to go with the number one pick. Of course you would draft Tomlinson and whoever has him is definitely the team to beat. You could probably still get Drew Brees when it comes back to your turn again. And then you get to pick right away again.
