Since Bush came into office in 2000, America has lost standing in the world. He replaced diplomacy with brute force and common sense with stubborn arrogance. I would say yes that we are a country in decline because of the behaviors of two men, Bush and Cheney. We are now the most hated nation on earth second only to Nazi Germany. The damage he has done to this country will be felt for years to come if we survive his final year in office. I feel he wants a war with Iran as badly as he wanted his war with Iraq. Our surplus that we accrued under Clinton has been squandered. Our military has been stretched to the breaking point and the suicide level of soldiers is far higher than ever before. Yes definately I would have to say we are a nation in decline.
There is a spirit of if you don't like Bush or this war, then you are unpatriotic. I don't have to like Bush or his thug administration to love my country. These that spout that want to go spread their version of democracy all over the world but want to deny it to us back at home. They want to limit free speech and change the rights that have been given us under our constitution which George Bush referred to as a "God dmmmmed piece of paper:" Many have died to protect those rights. I hope America survives Bush.

Maybe just a dry spell. Was America in decline during the Civil War? Was America in a decline after Stock Market Crash of 1929? Was America in decline after Vietnam? We have some down times, but what makes us America is that we bounce back. If we decline, the world declines. Where will the aid that other countries depend on come from? Their economies would crash and of course that would be our fault while they were in the middle of trying to help the decline along. Why not look at how your country can help others around the world? Just look at the earthquake in Pakistan, America was there helping while the brothers in religion in Dubai were busy building a billion dollar inside ski slope and not helping them.

America has always had resentments aimed at us with the way we fling money and aid to countries that we can benefit from. For instance, we're passing a bill to give $20b of weapons to saudi arabia...and all the other middle east countries except Iran. The way we do business, it's only natural that others will hate us. Are we in a decline? no, we just haven't found a way to accelerate into a universal agreement. Cowboy Bush definetely didn't help....but he did keep unemployement rate real low (one thing he did right)

it is not the US doing the harm on purpose, but negative forces such as extremist Muslims, and then special interest like an emerging Russia and China that are manipulating events to make the US look bad...!
our problem is a division of the country, a decline in good values, and a lack of will to do the things that need to get done...!

you may desire to confess its all approximately course a foul highway may bring about undesirable outcomes. Iraq in specific bothers me. we are applying a communist financial gadget to purchase oil from unfavourable international locations. The formula of 100yr conflict does not make experience. together as the chinese language ecomomy relies in great by ability of our call for of chinese language products. many of their products are defective and particularly poisonous. in addition to, the government isn't applying the money properly. Its been suggested many cases that anybody is paid greater to create defective weapons particularly. as a result, we are in a position to end that a in the long-term the chinese language financial gadget would be harm and our dollar greater heavily deflated if we shop on the charade that Europeans call a "junk bond conflict with Iraq."

Unfortunately, if we "stay the course" which Bush claims he never said, I think the Europeans and even Russians will become more Dominate!
As Bush withdraws from the ABM treaty, Russia is announcing the production of nuclear missiles. Do we really need another Cold War where we will be isolated, and not by choice?

Yes. Not because of what we're doing around the world but because of the illiberal enemy within.
What am I supposed to be imagining? America helps more countries than any other.
